In the recent past a number of developments have taken place in the Latin American countries and Cuba. Those of us who are committed to the socialist project and look upon the people of Latin America with solidarity and hope, would like to discuss in detail issues like restoration of diplomatic ties between Cuba and USA , sanctions against Venezuela, coming elections there and economic and political pressures faced by Ecuador. We would like to understand the gravity of challenges faced by the people and discuss specific details.

Therefore, Joshi-Adhikari Institute of Social Studies (JAISS) organised an interactive meeting of representatives of Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador with a selected audience of academics and activists interested in the project of socialism.

The meeting was on 6th September 2015 in the afternoon at 4 p.m. in Ajoy Bhavan. On this occasion Mr. Augusto Montiel, the new ambassador of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela shared his views. “The Blue Book” of Comandante Hugo Chavez Frias was also introduced to the audience with a brief discussion on this.
